Milwaukee Mortgages- Home Buyers
Welcome Milwaukee home buyers. Home sales are climbing and inventory is decreasing and if you don't act fast your selection will be limited.
First step: Get pre approved or pre qualified by meeting with a lender and having them pull credit and review your income for the last two years. Also be prepared to present a 60 day snapshot of bank statements. Do you have an IRA or 401K at work? Do you have a family member that would give you a gift to be used as a downpayment?
Next step find a good Realtor that works well with your needs. Then start looking! Good Luck and have fun on your journey.

You want to pick a Realtor who has sold many homes so they will be experienced and know what to do when the unexpected pops up. How do you find a Realtor? You can get a referral from a friend or family member or go to some Open Houses and find someone with a personality that works well for you. Good Luck on finding your dream home.

Hoan Bridge
You just have to scratch your head and wonder why some ideas are floated. Take for example the Hoan Bridge discussion. The thought is if it wasn't there it would open up the Jones Island area to development. That's what was said about the Park East Freeway. I don't know if you have seen North Water street lately but the proposed hotels etc. have not been built. There is vacant land downtown as a result. Do commuters want to wait for a lift bridge or drawbridge? The reason the Hoan was built in 1977 was so drivers wouldn't have to stop when ships entered the Port of Milwaukee. How long would it take for the area under the Hoan to be developed? 20 years? 50 years? Is there any reason why we shouldn't keep the Hoan Bridge? What do you think? Shouldn't the discussion be about adding bike lanes?
